Operations management is concerned with the ways of achieving the most effective and efficient use of an organisation's resources, such as its financial and human resources, its capital resources and its raw materials.
It is concerned with making a better product or service and with
making it more efficiently or at lower cost. Operations management is
therefore centrally concerned with the achievement of organisational
objectives and ultimately with the achievement of business success.
Although the course presents operations management as a specialist
business function, it will become clear that many of the ideas and
techniques are relevant to many other management specialists.
As you will see throughout this course there are many parts to the discipline of operations management and the course is likely to be of value to any manager in any business.

On completion of your course, you will receive two qualifications:
Qualification 1: Operations Management Diploma
Operations Management Diploma issued by Stonebridge Associated Colleges, entitling you to use the letters SAC Dip after your name.

Qualification 2: Level 4 Operations Management Award
At the end of this course successful learners will also receive a level 4 NCFE Award certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (in which case GCSE's are at levels 1 and 2 and A Levels are at level 3).
This award has been designed by Stonebridge Associated Colleges to meet specific learners' or employers' requirements. Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.
