Globalisation of the economy, transnational acquisitions and fusions, partnerships at the international scale... The ability to work in an intercultural context has become a critical skill in all companies. It is a journey that raises many questions.

This programme deals with all the essential questions that confront anybody who works in an intercultural context. It will give you the keys you need to understand cultural differences, and take them into account.

Personal skills developed through this course:
Recognise the potential traps and opportunities of working in an intercultural context
Know the influence of culture on individuals and on their way of working and communicating, and taking these factors into account on a daily basis
Distinguish how people are prepared to give trust in different cultures
Identify cultural preferences concerning the transmission of messages when you communicate at a distance, by telephone or e-mail and how to refine the way you communicate in order to make it more effective
Spot the main skills and capabilities that are necessary for working effectively in an intercultural context, and work out ways for you to improve yours

•Understand the Iceberg Model and how our behaviour reveals our deepest values
•Determine our own cultural profile and the way it influences us

Spotting and taking account of cultural preferences in the work context
•Understand how the notion of an objective varies across cultures
•Understand how our way of working within hierarchies varies across cultures
• Explore the key competencies for working interculturally, and work out ways for you to improve yours

Build effective communications strategies according to the cultures involved
• Understand how different cultures perceive trust and how to build it according to different
cultures
• Spot the best ways for communicating at a distance according to the cultures involved
• Using active listening and empathy to communicate efficiently
