Ronald Brown has over 15 years of experience in the business accounting field. His previous positions include being assistant account manager for a multi-million dollar hotel chain where he managed the night auditors as well as sales revenue. He has also served as the maintenance account specialist for Southland Corporation and was primarily responsible for overseeing 600 store maintenance contracts. Currently, Ronald is a staff accountant for Condumex Inc and Porcelanite Tile Company. He manages all asset accounts, dealing with 16 banks and 4 investment accounts for both companies combined. He oversees the Germany, China, and Laredo, TX, daily cash flow for operations, as well as the monthly accounting closing procedure for accounts payable and accounts receivable and inventory for both companies.
Ronald Brown graduated from Panola Junior College with an Associate of Science degree in business administration with a major in accounting. He also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management from Northwood University.
Marlissa Phillips, CPA, MBA, is proprietor of MJ Phillips Company. For over 12 years, Marlissa has serviced many small businesses in various industries. She partners with her clients to help them reach their goals. Her firm has also launched Heart2Heart Services. This service focuses on the needs and concerns of non-profit organizations. Heart2Heart combines stewardship and mission. Marlissa provides training to clients as well as accounting professionals. Marlissa graduated from the University of West Georgia with a B.B.A. in finance. She received an M.B.A. in accounting from DePaul University. Marlissa is a member of the Intuit Accounting Professionals Trainer Network and is an instructor for CPELink.com.
- Prerequisites/Audience
Our bookkeeping courses are designed to prepare you for an entry-level position as a full-charge bookkeeper. Bookkeeping experience is not required.
- Requirements/Materials Included
The bookkeeping portion of this course can be taken on either a PC or a Mac. Students need to have access to Microsoft Word and Excel to complete the assignments.
Students do not need QuickBooks software. Gatlin International provides an online tutorial that simulates QuickBooks, so students can learn to use the program from any Internet-capable computer. The QuickBooks tutorial is not Mac compatible and must be accessed on a PC or an IBM-compatible computer. This program is compatible with the Microsoft Vista operating system.
