All of our programs are self-paced and open enrollment, so you can start them when you want and finish them at your own pace. Most programs allow you 180 days after you register to complete them. If you need more time, extensions are available.

Instructor

Nick Ciavarella became a certified poker instructor in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1979. He worked as a poker dealer at the Marina, Treasury, Silverbird, and Tropicana resorts in Las Vegas. He was also a floor man and shift boss at the Tropicana. In 2003, he returned to Buffalo, NY, and opened the first poker room in western New York for the Seneca Nation of Indians in Irving. Nick has trained many of the successful poker dealers currently employed in casinos in New York, California, Nevada, Florida, Oregon, Illinois, and West Virginia.

Prerequisites/Audience

To succeed as a casino poker dealer, you should enjoy card games and games of chance. You should be motivated and personable and have a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced, exciting casino environment. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a GED or high school diploma. You must have full use of your eyesight and hands. Individuals with felony convictions will be ineligible for casino employment.

This program is for you if you have a passion for casino gaming and would like to embark on a career as a casino poker dealer.
