Richard Hodges - Richard Hodges, the Founder and a Principal of the consultancy GreenIT, is a widely recognized leader in the emerging field of sustainable solutions for ICT, and for integrated planning for ICT system and building design. In his 25 year career Mr. Hodges has developed a breadth and depth of experience in the technology, energy, and real estate industries that is unique. Mr. Hodges has extensive, hands-on experience in leading and managing strategy, research, business process change, policy development and technology implementation projects. He holds a BA from Middlebury College and and an MBA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

Requirements/Materials Included

The course involves substantial amounts of off-line reading, mostly from documents that are publicly available on-line. Though the course uses examples and resources from many parts of the world, all reading assignments are in English. There are also links to on-line resources for videos related to the lesson topics. Students will need a computer and network connection that is equipped to download, save, and view large PDF files and to view on-line video clips. While most required reading is freely available online, students may be required to purchase access to some materials depending on availability.  Currently, one textbook requires online purchase for less than $16, but this is subject to change as permissions and availability of online access is subject to change periodically.  Click on this link for information on required purchase. 

The course also requires students to do on-line research and to use spreadsheet tools that are downloaded from websites. Students will need to have Microsoft Excel and Word (or equivalent) on their computer and have basic abilities in using a spreadsheet and word processing program. Students will also need to be able to do basic on-line research from websites in many countries around the world.
