Travel Agent Training will provide the industry knowledge you need to begin a successful career. It will also help you prepare you for the Travel Institute (formerly ICTA) TAP Certification.

The travel agent training program includes two modules. First you’ll take part in a Travel Career Development program. Second will be your choice of computer reservation systems. These modules are part of a state-of-the-art online learning environment.

No matter what segment of the travel industry you work for, cruise lines, car rental companies, travel agencies, airlines, resorts, etc., all use a computer reservation system, such as SABRE, WORLDSPAN, APOLLO, GALILEO or AMADEUS GDS systems.

Students will have six months to complete the travel agent training program. A six month extension is available at no extra charge if you need more time.

This comprehensive travel agent training course covers a wide array of practical topics, including: the essentials of selling and marketing travel, online research, and how to successfully match the needs of the traveler to the existing products. Other essential topics are geography, foreign and domestic travel documentation and regulations.

By the time you finish this travel agent training program, you’ll understand how airfares are determined, understand how to deal with cultural differences, how the ground travel system works, including trains, car rental and bus tours, how hotels are priced, and currency exchange rates.

Prerequisites/Audience

There are no specific prerequisites for our travel agent training course. This course is intended for professionals who want to enhance their travel industry knowledge or for individuals who want to jump-start their career in the travel industry.

Requirements/Materials Included

The travel agent training course is compatible with the Windows Vista operating system.

This course can be taken on either a Mac or a PC. Students will need to have an Internet connection and email capabilities.

Students will receive a copy of Travel Career Development text and workbook. Upon completion of the Travel Career Development section of the program, students will be given access to their choice of online Reservation Systems modules with accompanying reference manual.
